Visas

All foreign visitors must obtain a visa before travelling to Papua New Guinea.

The Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Authority (PNGICA) is responsible for visas. For information on all visas, go to www.ica.gov.pg

PLEASE NOTE: VISA ON ARRIVAL IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED.

All visitors travelling to PNG must now apply for an E-visa at www.ica.gov.pg.

For those applying for Employment and Special Exemption visa’s, once your application has been approved in PNG, the visa will be transmitted to this High Commission for final processing before issuance. 

Opening hours for lodgement of visa applications and collection of passports are:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10 am – 1.00 pm, 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm

Friday 10 am – 1.00pm

Lodgement of Documents:

No appointment is necessary to drop off your documents. This can be made in person or by post. Final processing of visas takes approximately 4 working days to be completed if lodged in person. Documents sent by post will take up to 7 working days and a pre-paid self-addressed Special Delivery envelope must be provided for the return of your passport. Applicants outside the UK should use a courier service.

Collection of Passports:

Passports will only be released on presentation of the signed original Visa Application Receipt and two (2) forms of identification.

Visa Fees (Migration Service Fee):

Eligible passport holders applying for visas on arrival should note that the visa fee must be paid in PNG Kina. To check eligibility, go to www.immigration.gov.pg or www.ica.gov.pg
